General Information
|

The
Humane Education Studies Center (HESC) provides educational
resources for students and faculty, that increase awareness
about current animal ethics issues, explore various
perspectives regarding other species and their habitats, and
support equitable consideration and standards for all
species.
The
HESC oversees a special library collection housed on the
Second Floor of the Kendall Campus Library, adjacent to the
entrance doors. The collection includes books,
periodicals and videos that cover a wide range of issues
concerning the ethical treatment of animals. Books in the
collection may be checked out in the same manner as any
library materials and are subject to the same regulations.
Videos may be viewed and periodicals may be read in the HESC
section. Students and faculty are encouraged to utilize these
resources for study and class projects.
In
addition to a growing library collection, the HESC sponsors an
annual Animal Awareness Week which includes speakers, panels,
films, exhibits, and student participation through dance,
poetry, art and music.
*The
HESC is made possible through a generous contribution
by Donna Litowitz and the Litowitz Family
Foundation.
