Math Lab

Policies

 

Cell Phones

    1. MUST be turned off, on silent, or on vibrate.
    2. Any received calls must be taken outside.

 

Noise

    1. MUST be kept to a minimum.
    2. Socializing will NOT be allowed.
    3. All conversations must be in reference to a math question.

 

Dismissal

Anyone who cannot adhere to these rules, will be asked to leave the lab. Upon further abuse of the rules, they may be dismissed permanently from the lab.

 

Procedures

All students need to bring a copy of their paid schedule on their first visit to the lab. For subsequent visits, students will be asked to provide their MDC Student Number to check in and out of the lab.

 

Students are welcome to take advantage of our full range of services as long as needed. However, in order to serve the maximum number of students and to provide a quality learning experience to each person throughout the term, students will be allowed to clock in a maximum of four hours per week.

 

              Grading

                   

        Instructors will receive a cumulative weekly report of our attendance records and should announce in class how lab hours may affect classroom grades.

 

 

Passing Requirements

 

MAT 0020 and MAT 0024 students, in order to pass your course with an ‘S’, you must have all of the following:

 

1. An average of at least 70% on class tests

2. At least 60% on the state final exam

3. A total of 32 lab hours
