There is no separate application for the American Dream Scholarship.

Simply apply for admission to Miami Dade College, submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and fulfill all requirements by the deadline above. If you are unable to complete a FAFSA application, please click here.

Before You Apply


Apply for admission using our online credit application.

  • You must be admitted to Miami Dade College to be eligible for the American Dream Scholarship.

Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  • You must complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for the American Dream Scholarship. Please remember that it may take several days for MDC to receive your information even after you request it. Therefore, please allow enough time for this to occur by the deadline..
  • If you are unable to complete a FAFSA application, please complete the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) CalculatorPrint and submit the results to your campus Financial Aid office


Send us your FCAT / SAT / ACT scores

  • If you have FCAT, ACT, or SAT scores that do not meet the minimum score requirements, CPT or PERT scores can also be used. 
  • When taking the ACT  or SAT, remember to include Miami Dade College as a score recipient.  


Submit your official high school transcript showing your weighted GPA of 3.0 or above.

  • If you graduated from a Florida public high school, MDC will electronically request your transcripts. However, you are responsible for ensuring that the College receives your documentation
  • GED recipients and students without a GPA on their transcripts (e.g., some home-schooled students) must earn the diploma during the time period above and meet the test score requirements for Bright Futures Florida Academic Scholars (i.e. 1270 on the SAT, or 28 on the ACT).
  • If you attended a private high school, please have your official transcript sent directly to:
