Admission Requirements

To be admitted to Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Science with an option in Physician Assistant Studies program (BAS-HS, PA), applicants must:
- Complete the MDC Application for Admission (Note: Official transcripts from institutions other than Miami Dade College must be sent to the records department for evaluation at least six weeks prior to the deadline date for program application.)
- Submit a separate application to the School of Health Sciences, Physician Assistant program by the deadline. For January admission, the deadline is Oct. 1, and for May admission the deadline is March 1 of every year; $25 application fee required. Application will be available online and through the New Student Center and must be turned in to the New Student Center at Medical Center Campus prior to the deadline date
- Have earned an A.S. degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited college recognized by Miami Dade College
- Have successfully completed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE)
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, 2.75 in science courses, and 2.5 in Physician Assistance course work
- Completed Health Form
- Successful completion of a background investigation and a drug screen.
- Completion of the following required courses prior to formal admission in to the BAS-HS program: BSC2085, BSC2085L, BSC2086, BSC2086L, CHM1033, CHM1033L, MCB2010, MCB2010L, STAT2023, ENC1101, ENC1102
