A decade after the 9/11 attacks, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus will host a remembrance ceremony at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and unveil two World Trade Center steel artifacts donated by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. MDC is the only higher education institution in the State of Florida to receive artifacts from the World Trade Center. Deputy Assistant Chief John W. Norman, FDNY (Ret.), who was in the Special Operations Command (SOC), and served as search and rescue manager for the World Trade Center Operations, will be the keynote speaker. The entire community is invited to attend and share in this milestone memorial.

Miami Dade College is adding a new career path for students at its renowned School of Justice – a training program for National Park Service rangers – with support from the Florida Bay Stewardship Fund of the South Florida National Parks Trust and its partner the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA).
