Municipalities of Cuba in Exile Scholarship

Background:

The Municipalities of Cuba in Exile Scholarships comprise three (3), $2,500 scholarships for study at Miami Dade College. One scholarship is titled, Santiago Blanco Scholarship, in honor of the defunct Cuban patriot and leader in the effort to reorganize the Municipalities of Cuba in Exile. The second scholarship honors the memory of Georgelina Q.Viamontes, and is funded by her husband as a tribute to her work in support of the organization’s Library Commission. The third scholarship honors Rosendo Rosell, a renowned Cuban composer, actor and TV personality.

Eligibility:

Eligibility for The Santiago Blanco and The Georgelina Q. Viamontes scholarship:
Meet the admissions requirements of Miami Dade College
Demonstrate a strong commitment to education
Declare a major in sociology, psychology, nursing and related fields

Eligibility for The Rosendo Rosell Scholarship:
Meet the admissions requirements of Miami Dade College
Demonstrate a strong commitment to education
Declare a major in theater, television, entertainment and related fields

Application:

Submit an application form to Miami Dade College’s Office of Financial Aid; include an essay no more that 500 words addressing the ideals of democracy, the pursuit of liberty and patriotism.
