NEW admission exam requirement for Nursing applicants!
The ATI TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is designed specifically to assess a student's preparedness entering the health science fields. The ATI TEAS test is comprised of 170 questions set up in a multiple-choice format with four-option answers. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform in class in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage.
The Benjamin León School of Nursing at Miami Dade College pre-licensure Associate of Science in Nursing program requires the TEAS for all applicants.
Students must have a minimum TEAS composite score of 60% to apply for admission to the School of Nursing.
The Benjamin León School of Nursing requires students to take the following Four components of the TEAS:
- Reading- Key ideas and details Craft and structure integration of knowledge & ideas (53 questions 64 min)
- Mathematics -Numbers and algebra measurement and data (36 questions 54 min)
- Science- Human anatomy & physiology life and physical sciences as well as scientific reasoning (53 questions 63 min)
English and Language Usage- Conventions of standard English knowledge of language, vocabulary acquisition (28 questions 28 min)
Students will be allowed 3hrs 29 min to complete the exam.
It is strongly recommended that students wait until they have successfully completed all required EAP, English, Mathematics and Science courses (Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology) before attempting the exam. TEAS scores must be the result of testing in the Medical Campus Testing Center.
Students will be able to view immediate results after the exam; however, MDC students will not receive a printed score report; scores will be inputted directly into the MDC system. If you are not a MDC student and are testing for another institution you will receive a sealed copy of your results.

Candidates taking the TEAS must follow these instructions:
- Step 1: Go to https://onetesting.net/mdc/medical-campus and select register for a test. After you select register for a test you will be prompted to type in required personal information; there will be an option for candidates to select whether they want to test now or later.
- Step 2: Pay the test fee. Your seat cannot be reserved without payment.
- Step 3: Create an ATI account www.atitesting.com
. Click on create account by filing out required information.
- Step 4: Bring your username and password along with two picture ID's to the testing center on the day of your exam.
The following policies apply to all examinees planning to take the TEAS exam at Miami Dade College:
- Miami Dade College does not accept TEAS test scores from other institutions for students living in Florida.
- Schedule at least 4 hours to complete the exam. The actual test time is 3 hours and 29 minutes.

Retest Procedure
Students will be allowed to retest once, with a minimum of 30 days between tests. Students will be allowed to test total of two times per calendar year. Scores are good for two (2) years.

Request a remote test. Examinees must be checked-in and seated by the time scheduled in order to begin the test. Examinees will then have adequate time to finish the test in a reasonable period or within the Hours of Operation.

Auxiliary Aids and Modifications
Under certain circumstances, arrangements for auxiliary aids and modifications are permissible. The College makes every reasonable effort to ensure equal access to educational opportunities and experiences for candidates with documented disabilities. These services can include:
