Simplified Transient Application Steps for Students

If you are considering requesting to take courses at MDC via the transient request process, we recommend that you contact the academic advisement department at your home institution for an advisement session to review the course(s) that you intend to take at MDC.

Transient Application Request Process for students:

  1. To fill out a transient request, please complete the transient application here:www.floridashines.org
  2. The academic advisor at your home institution will receive it and review your request. He/she will decide based your academic requirements if the course(s) can be approved.
  3. If approved, the application will go to the financial aid department for approval at your home institution. Upon approval, the process then moves forward to MDC.
  4. At MDC, the admissions office receives the application first for processing. Once completed, it will go to the advisement office for the final review (this approval is based on the courses previously approved by your school). Once cleared by the advisement department, you're all set to register.

**For every step of the process, you will receive an email notification from the department processing your request to keep you updated. You will also have a contact person from each department in case you have any questions during the review process.**
