NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER DRAWING By participating in the Sharks! Enroll for a Chance to WIN a Free $50.00 Gift Card Drawing each participant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these official rules ("Official Rules”). The decisions of Miami Dade College (“Sponsor”) shall be final and binding in all matters relating to this Drawing. There will be one drawing. The drawing will take place on August 17, 2022 at noon, EST.
To be eligible, MDC students must enroll in Fall 2022 courses between 12:01 a.m. on August 8th and 11:59p.m. on August 12th, 2022 “Drawing Eligibility Period”. All courses must be paid in full by 11:59 p.m. on August 12, 2022. Students must also comply with all other eligibility requirements set forth herein. The Drawing is only open to Miami Dade College students who register for Fall 2022 courses during the Drawing Eligibility Period. All participants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, legal residents of the State of Florida and able to provide a valid Florida-issued identification. By enrolling, each participant agrees that he/she has all rights necessary to enter and participate in the Drawing and grant to Sponsor the rights described in these Official Rules.
If a participant is unable to participate in the Drawing as requested by the Sponsor, Sponsor reserves the right to deem that participant’s entry as forfeited in its entirety and the participant disqualified. Each participant will only be eligible to be awarded one prize based upon Location, as defined herein. If a participant registers at more than one Location as defined herein, the first Location the participant registers at will be deemed the Location for the purpose of the Drawing. The Drawing is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations.
To enter the Drawing, a participant must register for Miami Dade College’s Fall 2022 term during the Drawing Eligibility Period by enrolling here: (www.mdc.edu/registration). Registration for Miami Dade College Fall 2022 constitutes one (1) entry for the Drawing (“Entry”) regardless of the number of courses registered. The odds of winning a prize (“Prize”) depend on the number of eligible participants.
By accepting an awarded prize, each participant agrees to and irrevocably assigns and transfers to Sponsor any and all right, title and interest that the participant has or may have in his/her Entry and all other related materials provided to Sponsor or otherwise prepared in connection with the Drawing or acceptance of a Prize in any way, which may or may not include the participant’s name, voice, image, photograph, likeness, city and state of residence and/or responses to the Drawing. Each participant agrees to take, at Sponsor’s expense, any further action (including, without limitation, execution of affidavits and other documents) reasonably requested by Sponsor to effect, perfect or confirm Sponsor’s rights as set forth in this Paragraph 3.
The Drawing will be conducted by the Office of District Student Affairs. All eligible participants will be included in the pool to be entered into a random drawing for one (1) of the One Hundred (100) MDC Book store $50.00 gift cards. Selection of the Drawing Winners will be conducted at the District Student Affairs Office, 300 N.E. 2nd Avenue, building 1, Room 1515, Miami, Florida 33132 at the times and dates set forth herein. The one hundred (100) Drawing Winners are subject to verification of their eligibility and compliance with the Official Rules.
Sponsor will contact the Drawing Winners by sending an email and/or text notification to the email address and phone number that the participant provided at time of their registration and/or by any other method. Sponsor will make three (3) attempts to contact the Drawing Winners by the method(s) described above within one (1) business day after they were determined to be a Drawing Winner. Drawing Winners must respond to the email or text notification within ten (10) business days or they shall forfeit their award. If Sponsor is unable to reach a Drawing Winner by the methods described above within such time, that Drawing Winner will be disqualified and an alternate Drawing Winner will be determined by randomly selecting another eligible participant from the remaining pool of eligible participants within the applicable Drawing Period using the selection criteria and Locations described above. Sponsor shall have no liability for any Drawing Winner notification that is lost, intercepted, not read, or not received by a potential winner for any reason.
If a participant is selected as a Drawing Winner, they may be required to submit the additional information (e.g. a photo, and a short bio), prior to acceptance of the Prize for Sponsor’s use in promoting the Sharks! Enroll for a Chance to WIN a Free $50.00 Gift Card Drawing and the Drawing Winners.
The Drawing Winners will receive the following Prize: one (1) of One Hundred (100) MDC Book Store $50.00 gift cards. Gift cards can only be redeemed at any one the MDC Book Stores operated by Follett. Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash.
At any time during the Drawing, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify and eliminate any entry, Entries or other submission from a participant for any reason, including but not limited to, that in Sponsor’s sole determination the entry or Entries do not comply with these Official Rules. In the event that a Drawing Winner is disqualified, an alternate Drawing Winner will be selected from among the remaining eligible registrants, as provided above, if practicable. Sponsor reserves the right to amend these Official Rules, or terminate, suspend or modify the Drawing, in its sole discretion. The dates and times set forth in these Official Rules are subject to change in Sponsor’s sole discretion and in the event of any such change, Sponsor will notify the participants by posting the change on the website.
Drawing Winners are solely responsible for any and all expenses, and applicable federal, state and local taxes associated with claiming or using the Prizes. If applicable, Drawing Winners may receive a Tax Form 1099 for the value of the Prizes as provided by current tax laws. Unless otherwise specified herein, no Prizes can be replaced if lost or stolen. Sponsor reserves the right to replace and/or substitute with similar prizes, regardless of value, should the Prizes specified in these Official Rules, or any portion thereof be unavailable, for any reason.
Drawing Winners are required to claim the Prizes in person at the Campus location specified in their winner notification. Winners must pick up their prize by September 16, 2022. Sponsor may email Drawing Winners with an alternate date and/or time to claim their Prize. Sponsor shall have no liability for non-delivery, and are not responsible for any mishandling by the U.S. Mail or any other delivery method used to transmit the Prizes.
This Drawing is void where prohibited or where restricted beyond the restrictions set forth in these Official Rules by law. Sponsor does not warrant that the Drawing is valid in any particular state or jurisdiction. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations shall apply. ALL ISSUES CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, VALIDITY, INTERPRETATION AND/OR ENFORCEABILITY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES OR THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF PARTICIPANTS, SPONSOR(S) AND/OR SPONSOR ENTITIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE DRAWING SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA WITHOUT GIVING ANY EFFECT TO ANY CHOICE OF LAW OR CONFLICT OF LAW RULES OR PROVISIONS THAT WOULD CAUSE THE APPLICATION OF ANY OTHER STATE’S LAWS. ENTRY INTO THE DRAWING CONSTITUTES PARTICIPANT’S CONSENT TO THE SOLE JURISDICTION OF THE COURTS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
