About the Scholarship

Miami Dade College’s Future Ready Miami-Dade Scholarship ensures all Miami-Dade County residents can complete an associate degree at Miami Dade College tuition-free. This scholarship covers costs not covered through other grants, financial aid, and scholarships.

To ensure the success of all scholarship recipients, Miami Dade College is providing comprehensive support services, including personalized on-boarding assistance, individualized help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), career counseling, resume development, and dedicated student success advisors. Students will also have opportunities to participate in Changemaking activities, recognition events, and networking opportunities with experts in their field of interest.

What is Covered?

The scholarship funds will be applied at the in-state tuition rate after all other resources available to cover tuition and fees have been applied.

Program Details

  • The Future Ready Miami-Dade Scholarship partnership program funds will be applied after all other scholarships, financial aid, and grants funds have been applied.
  • Students must enroll full-time for at least 12 credits each fall and spring semester. Summer enrollment is encouraged.
  • Students who wish to enroll before the initial fall term in August may qualify for the established Fast Track Shark Program during their first summer term.
  • Out-of-state costs per credit for out-of-state students are not covered.
  • Special fees for the Aviation and Culinary Arts programs are not covered.
  • Failed or withdrawn courses count toward the 60-credit limit of the scholarship.
  • No separate scholarship application is required.
  • The Future Ready Miami-Dade Scholarship pays for in-state tuition and class fees and is not disbursable in cash.

The scholarship covers up to 60 credits toward the completion of an associate degree. Students have the opportunity to earn badges and career certificates as they progress toward the associate degree.

  • Students must be entering college for the first time or be a graduating dual enrollee. To meet the enrollment eligibility, students must enroll full time in the fall term following high school graduation from a high school in Miami-Dade County. Eligible graduation dates are between May-July.
    • Note: The scholarship will launch with the entering Class of 2023 whose first term after high school graduation is spring 2024.
  • You must currently reside in Miami-Dade County.
  • You must have a cumulative high school GPA of at least a 2.0.
  • You must be admitted to Miami Dade College and registered for 12 or more credits for the fall semester after high school graduation.
  • You must complete the corresponding FAFSA. You do not need to be eligible for federal financial aid, but you must complete the FAFSA application. If you are unable to complete a FAFSA application, please complete the Expected Family Contribution Calculator. Email the results to your campus Financial Aid office.
  • Students obtaining a standard high school diploma through Florida Virtual School will be accepted if they reside in Miami-Dade County.
