PROGRAM BENEFITS

Apprenticeships are an Earn as you Learn model for individuals to be employed while they attend school. An Apprenticeship is an industry-driven career pathway that assists employers to develop and apply industry standards to training programs.
Miami Dade College is the first academic institution in Florida to receive the designation of Program Sponsor by the Florida Department of Education. As a Program Sponsor, MDC is authorized to register occupations, employers and apprentices to participate in Registered Apprenticeship.
The MDC Apprenticeship Program is housed under the Department of Career and Technical Education (CTE). The mission of CTE is to prepare students for career pathways in the targeted industries identified by the Beacon Council.
