Individuals with Autism are particularly vulnerable in police encounters and emergencies due to features of their disorder. This is an engaging training that helps law enforcement professionals recognize the signs of a person with Autism and be able to respond to their needs. The hands-on activities help law enforcement professionals recognize the signs of autism, respond to the needs of these individuals, reducing the risk and improving the outcomes for everyone involved. Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics, or ICAT, a use-of-force Training designed to fill a critical gap in training police officers in how to respond to volatile situations in which subjects are behaving erratically and often dangerously but do not possess a firearm will form part of the training.

NOTE: An individual with autism will be present for this training.
