Through this 16-hour training officers will be able to, among other things:

  • Identify the different definitions of de-escalation and their importance.
  • Make use of use of force decisions while considering de-escalation and where it belongs in managing situations.
  • Use crisis management techniques to de-escalate events that are expected to become unstable and dangerous situations affecting an individual, group, community, or whole society.

There will be scenarios provided throughout the course for the hands-on application of the concepts and skills taught in each lesson. This training can be applied to Mandatory Training.
