This course was organized and developed to provide refresher training for instructors who have allowed their certification to expire or did not obtain their General Instructor Certification within four years of completing the Florida General Instructor Techniques Course. The course intent is to provide instructors with the core knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide efficient and effective training to fellow criminal justice personnel in those skill or subject areas dictated by local need.

Instructor(s): James Martin is a state certified law enforcement instructor whose career spans 34 years. He served in the Air Force before working as a local police officer in New Hampshire. He became a federal law enforcement officer with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and was assigned to the fugitive unit for over ten years. He has worked in New York City, Boston, and Miami, retiring as the Deputy Field Office Director for the State of Florida. He holds a Criminal Justice degree from Saint Anselm College.
