The complex and sensitive nature of Internal Affairs investigations requires a specialized skill set to ensure the highest degree of effectiveness, to reinforce the public confidence in your police department and to ensure compliance with the law. The subject matters that are presented will help the Internal Affairs Investigators to meet the legal requirements of documenting allegations and conducting a thorough fact finding search to facilitate substantiating or clearing the allegations against an officer. The course topics will include, but are not limited to: Intake of a case; General case initiation; Pro-active case initiation; Legal Issues; FSS 112; and Garrity Rights or Miranda Rights;
