This course is designed to provide law enforcement officers (uniform and plain clothes) with skills, techniques and concepts to safely perform their duties while conducting building searches or responding to active shooter situations.

Day one: The students will be exposed to breaching tools and their application, search methods (slow/methodical and dynamic) and tactics for active shooter incidents (single officer to four-officer contact team). Emphasis will be placed on weapons manipulation (rifle and handgun) while conducting building search/active shooter exercises.

Day two: The students will be at the shooting range where they will practice the following skills with the rifle and handgun: Standing, kneeling and prone shooting, transition drills, shooting from behind cover, shooting while moving, bounding drills, hallway movements, room clearing, and shooting under stress.
