Carlos Alberto Duart
Carlos A. Duart is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CDR Companies, Inc., a diversified enterprise supporting infrastructure, emergency response, healthcare operations, and project finance services across multiple states. He has more than 25 years of experience in disaster response and infrastructure, overseeing large-scale recovery and engineering initiatives.
Mr. Duart currently serves as Vice Chair of the Florida International University Board of Trustees and is a member of FIU’s Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. He holds degrees in Accounting and Taxation from FIU and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School.
Carlos Diaz-Rosillo, Ph.D.
Carlos Diaz-Rosillo is the Founding Director of the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom. Previously, he served as the Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Policy and Interagency Coordination at the White House, the Senior Deputy Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs. Diaz-Rosillo earned his bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and international relations from Tufts University and his master’s degrees in public policy and government and his doctorate in government from Harvard University.
Orlando Gutierrez-Boronat, Ph.D.
Orlando Gutierrez-Boronat is a Spokesperson for the Cuban Democratic Directorate and a member of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance. Through his efforts, he has helped establish the Justice Cuba Commission, served as an international diplomat for the cause of a Free Cuba, and organized the Anti-Communist and Anti-Socialist Caravan and Seminar. Gutierrez-Boronat earned his bachelor’s degrees in communications and political science and his master’s degree in political science from Florida International University and his doctorate in international relations from the University of Miami.
Ismare Monreal
Ismare Monreal is the Chief of Staff for the City of Hialeah Mayor’s Office. Previously, she served as the Associate Vice President of Mission and Dean of Students for Barry University and is currently appointed to the Miami Dade College District Board of Trustees. Monreal earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
Álvaro Uribe Vélez
Álvaro Uribe Vélez is a prominent politician and businessman. He holds a law degree from the University of Antioquia and pursued postgraduate studies at Harvard and Oxford universities. Uribe began his political career in the 1970s, serving as Medellín’s mayor, senator (1986-1994), and governor of Antioquia (1995-1997), where he implemented financial reforms and boosted public investment.
As Colombia’s President (2002-2010), he achieved historic re-election and oversaw significant security improvements, reduced crime, dismantled paramilitary groups, and expanded social services. His policies strengthened the economy, attracting foreign investment and increasing exports.
After his presidency, Uribe briefly returned to the Senate and remains an advocate for freedom and democracy. He founded the Centro Democrático party and has received prestigious honors, including the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.
