The College recently installed a call detail recording (CDR) system to collect and report vital statistics on calls made using College facilities. The system is capable of reporting long-distance and Suncom call statistics (e.g., calling time, call duration, calling and called number, etc.). It cannot record calls or store their contents in any way.
Since State regulations hold employees accountable for the personal use of telecommunications facilities, monthly reports will be sent to Campus and District Management for review and employee sign-off. Only authorized long-distance calls (i.e., those related to College business) may be placed through the College's long distance system.
It is the responsibility of every employee to log all long distance calls and faxes on the Departmental Long Distance Call and Fax Log.
In the case of a personal emergency, the caller must document and reimburse the College for the call using the Personal Long Distance Call and Fax Remittance Form. Any call(s) that you have not authorized should be reported to Network & Telecommunication Services using the Unauthorized Call and Fax Report Form. The reports for January-April 2000 are scheduled for distribution beginning in June 2000. They will include a summary as well as details about individual telephone activity. Department managers are responsible for ensuring judicious use of College telecommunication facilities by their departments and for ensuring that all personal use is identified and reimbursed. See College Procedure 7914.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call 7-0033 or speak with your supervisor.
Thank you.
