Are you an MDC student who wants to take a test at another institution, an approved facility, or via a technology supported online proctoring service?

Miami Dade College has a process in place for allowing students to take a test on a remote testing basis. The Testing and Assessment Departments use the term "Remote Testing" to describe tests that are authorized by MDC to be administered by a non-MDC proctor at another institution, an approved facility or via an MDC approved online proctoring service. The criteria below explains the MDC remote testing request process and fees.

Remote Testing will be processed for the following reasons:

  • Students who live outside of the South Florida Tri-County area (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties).
  • Students who live within the South Florida Tri-County area who are requesting a technology supported online proctoring service due to a conflict with MDC test center hours of operation, are homebound or prefer social distancing.

The following tests are eligible to be taken through MDC's Remote Testing process:

*Priority scheduling is given to students who are enrolled in MDC Online or MDC LIVE classes during the current semester and/or living outside of the South Florida tri-county area.

  • Students must have a MDC Student ID number prior to requesting remote testing.
  • All remote testing requests must be approved by the Institutional Test Administrator (ITA), Silvio Rodriguez, or designee prior to taking the test. The Remote Testing Request Form is used for the approval process.
  • Requests must be received at least 10 business days prior to the preferred test date.
  • Testing must occur at a secure postsecondary test center, or for those serving in the military or foreign services, a military/government educational facility, or via a technology supported online proctoring service.
  • Students are responsible for all remote related proctoring fees as well as any MDC testing fees. This includes a separate fee for technology supported proctoring testing options when available.
  • Students must adhere to the Testing Dishonesty and Behavioral GuidelinesProhibited Items in Testing, and the Testing Requirements and Acceptable IDs when taking a test at another institution, an approved facility, or via technology supported online proctoring services.
