FAQs

In an effort to help those looking for a career change or a new opportunity, we have launched Kick Start your Career with Rapid Credentials. After receiving a grant from the Florida Department of Education, we have been able to expand our offerings, bring back programs that were in high demand and add new ones.

Everyone who is awarded this scholarship will receive free tuition, money for books, and a living stipend in the amount of $100 per credit hour. The stipends will not be disbursed in a lump sum payment, and will be awarded in multiple payments throughout the semester.

The only thing you will need to pay for is the $30 application fee to become an MDC student.

We will be accepting students on a rolling bases while grant funds are available. The program ends Summer, 2021.

Yes, this is an academic program. You will receive a College Credit Certificate degree upon completion. Moreover, many of these programs are “stackable.” What that means is, after completing one of these programs, you could potentially enroll in an Associate Degree program and only need to complete additional classes to receive your Associate Degree.

In addition, this program will also allow you to complete industry certifications in your particular field.

It depends on the course. With that said, Miami Dade College has made every effort to offer many classes online. Please, speak to your Kickstart advisor to find out what the set up for your program will be.

The number varies per program. Scholarships will be distributed on a first come first served basis, as long as the student follows the instructions they will receive and completes the necessary paperwork.

Students are not required to apply for FAFSA or receive Financial Aid to qualify for this program. All program costs, including tuition, books, materials and certification exam fees will be covered by the grant. If a program is financial aid eligible, students will be provided guidance on the application process.

To sign up please fill out the interest form here. Once you submit the interest form, you will receive an email within 24-48 hours from an MDC advisor. This person will walk you through the process and the necessary information needed in order to enroll.

If you come across any problems throughout this process, you will need to contact that advisor, as soon as possible. They will be your point of contact.

If you are selected for Business Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing or Accounting, you will be contacted by Monday, August 24th. If you are applying for any other program, you will be notified if you have been selected by Tuesday, September 8th.
